Tiller gives AI a clean, optimized financial structure to work with

For 10 years, Tiller has organized financial activity in spreadsheets for formulas, filters, pivots, reports, templates, scripts, and other spreadsheet tools.
Spreadsheets combine the structure software needs with the visibility people need. The same rows, fields, definitions, and source data that give compatible AI a clear place to start remain visible and understandable to you.

Each transaction has its own row.

The activity behind a total stays available as individual transactions. You can filter it, calculate from it, inspect it, or use it in a report. AI can work from those same source rows instead of relying only on a summary.

Accounts use a consistent structure

Dates, descriptions, amounts, accounts, institutions, and categories use predictable fields across your financial activity. That means you and compatible AI can compare, filter, and calculate across accounts without first reconciling a different format from every institution.

Your financial definitions are explicit.

Categories, groups, transaction types, rules, and report settings preserve how you want your financial activity treated. Income, expenses, transfers, exclusions, and your own categories don’t have to be reconstructed from merchant names and transaction amounts every time.

Source activity stays separate from reports.

Transactions, Categories, and Balance History stay distinct from budgets, dashboards, charts, and calculated totals. You can change a report without replacing the activity behind it, and AI can work from the underlying financial information rather than mistaking a summary or target for the source.
The structure works for you, your spreadsheet tools, and the AI you choose.

How to use your AI Tiller spreadsheets to unlock AI
Unlock new ways to stay on top of your money

Build the reports you want

Describe the view you need instead of starting with formula syntax. AI can create formulas, tables, charts, dashboards, or scripts around your categories and data. The result stays in your spreadsheet to inspect, edit, and reuse.

“Create a report that shows dining spending by month for the past two years.”

report gemini3

Automate recurring tasks

Use AI agents or automations to review transactions, audit categories, update reports, and prepare monthly summaries. Advanced users can connect other tools through APIs, MCP, or custom workflows.

“Each month, audit uncategorized transactions, update my spending report, and summarize anything that needs attention.”

Plan cash flow and compare scenarios

Use your income, spending, balances, and debt details to test a decision before you make it. Compare payoff plans, budget changes, or upcoming expenses and see how each option affects your cash flow.

“If I add $300 a month to the car payment, when would the loan be paid off?”

“The approach of using Tiller with large language models—including ChatGPT, Grok, and Claude—aligns well with the goal of transforming personal finance from a source of stress into a structured, repeatable process. Tiller’s established capabilities, such as automated transaction feeds into spreadsheets and features like AutoCat for categorization, provide a strong foundation for deeper analysis and automation. This combination enables more sophisticated insights, forecasting, and decision support without requiring manual intervention at every step.” – James, Google Workspace Review, May 28, 2026
